This is Harry Houdini with Jennie, his elephant. Houdini perfected one grand deception with his vanishing elephant routine. He was so good at it that he managed to convince a multitude of theatre attendees at the New York Hippodrome (the world’s largest stage) that Jennie literally disappeared before their eyes in an oversized cabinet. This, though the elephant was still there.
Joe Biden Follows in Harry Houdini’s Footsteps
Not to be outdone is Joe Biden. He, with the full-throated acquiescence of the entire legal community, was able to deceive the American public into thinking that the issue of the American judiciary is the following in his words: “we can and must …restore the public’s faith in our judicial system” and “I’m calling for a binding code of conduct for the Supreme Court.” He continues, “This is common sense. The Court’s current, voluntary ethics code is weak and self-enforced.”
While the American people are evaluating whether the so-called “voluntary ethics code is weak and self-enforced,” Biden and the entire legal community made Harry Houdini proud. They managed to deceive the public into thinking that there are no mandatory rules of professional conduct that govern all law officials, including the U.S. Supreme Court. The reality is the following: there is a mandatory, not voluntary, rules of professional conduct. It is binding and it is enforceable. It resides in each state bar association’s rules of conduct. And it rules over all in the legal community, including the judges.
Indeed, no judge can be a judge at any level if he has not first been admitted to the practice of law by a state bar association. And once admitted, he is bound by its rules of professional conduct. It doesn’t stop there. The higher the judge, the greater the duty to police the profession pursuant to the applicable rules of professional conduct.
How About an Example
A prosecutor illicitly prosecutes a defendant through the use of unwarranted prejudicial publicity. Yet, the publicity is so massive that it reaches all of the judiciary. This is clearly illegal under the rules of professional conduct. Yet, those same rules impose the duty on the judges to police this illicit activity to report it to the applicable state bar association. (This duty is imposed because the wrongful conduct comes to their attention through this massive publicity). And if they don’t, they themselves are guilty of professional misconduct under the same rules.
How the Grand Deception is Perfected
Joe Biden framed the Supreme Court issue that ended up causing the rules of professional conduct to appear to disappear. Yet, he needed help for his own Jennie to make it happen. His help came from the entire judiciary and legal community who acquiescently went along with his charade.
